Sandra Remy

Licensed Master Social Worker

(she/her)

Greetings,
It is an honor for me to hold space for individuals as they seek to resolve their internal conflict and restore inner balance. I work with individuals aged 18 and older. I strongly believe in increasing access to quality mental health services for individuals who identify as BIPOC and I am intentional in cultivating a safe space for BIPOC.

My therapeutic style is informed by cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and strengths-based therapy.

How I Can Help

We continuously go through the ebbs and flows of new beginnings and endings as we cycle through life transitions, relationships, roles, statuses, and so much more. These cycles of beginnings and endings can evoke a range of emotions. In some instances, they may even cause healed and/or unhealed wounds to resurface. Whether you are feeling consumed by or disconnected from your emotions, I can support you by cultivating a safe space for you to explore and process your emotions.

I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to support my clients. This approach allows you and I to challenge your destructive or distressing thought patterns and replace them with constructive thought patterns and in the same respect replace unhealthy and unproductive behaviors with healthier and productive behaviors. I also support my clients with learning positive coping skills to manage their emotions using mindfulness-based practices, such as, breathing exercises, guided imagery, and movement to relax the body and mind.

My style as a therapist is to honor your unique experiences, history, cultural and spiritual influences, knowledge, personal characteristics, and most importantly your strengths.

I am honored to support you on your journey towards healing and wellness. In our interaction together, you can expect to encounter cultural sensitivity, empathy, open-mindedness, and respect. If you are feeling like it’s time to prioritize yourself and nurture your emotional and mental well-being, I encourage you to get in contact with me.
